Property Description

This exceptional 4660 square feet (433 square meter) residential property is nestled in the much desired Las Nubes neighborhood of Santa Elena just above Rise Perez Zeledon community, and it is surrounded by magical land with breathtaking views. Santa Elena is located about 12 km northeast of San Isidro General Viejo, the largest city outside the Central Valley.

A gourmet kitchen with countertops and walls covered with stunning exotic stone connects with the living room by the built-in breakfast counter, wine cabinet and bookcases. The kitchen features a large stainless steel apron sink with “touch technology” Delta faucet, Kitchen Aid appliances that include a refrigerator, dishwasher and hood over the gas stove, very thoughtfully designed cabinets, foot pantry and a closet for extra storage. 


A short hallway with closet connects the kitchen to a formal dining room with multiple windows overlooking the garden. This room was converted from a bedroom and can easily be converted back. 

A large master suite with walk-in California closet is located on the opposite side of the house and connects to an office with beautiful spiral stairways to a loft. This part of the house currently serves as a media room and occasionally as a guest suite. A separate exterior door to the office could also create a convenient set-up for a home-based business. There are three full bathrooms in the main house. One of them could be used in the future as a pool bath since there is room for a dipping pool in that area. 


The house is extended from the back by large covered porches. You will find an outside kitchen and dining area with retractable awning over the table and chairs for additional space. There is a Jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom area and plenty of room for outdoor furniture.

You will gain a perspective of the elevation and why this area is called Las Nubes (in the clouds). The terrace is covered with gorgeous tiles, protected by elegant stainless steel railings and adorned with blue lights for the special effect at night. Whether you are there during the day or at night looking at the shimmering lights in the valley, you will understand the term million dollar view. It truly is. 


The next is the guest house. Our guests refer to it as a jewel in the mountains. This one bedroom, living room, small yet well-designed kitchen, a lovely bathroom and large screened-in room, perfect for anytime and any-weather outdoor relaxation space is our second income-producing part of the property. Until recently, a 5-star-rated Airbnb now under a month-to-month rental agreement, could also become a perfect residence for a caretaker. A balcony with views of the garden and mountains leads via a walkway to the garage with a workroom and that completes the lower part of the property.  


There is so much more to say about this remarkable place and, of course, about the hike through the rain forest to the Penas Blancas river with secluded swimming hole.
